Conquering the Northeast Loop: 7-Day Journey to Explore Ha Giang – Cao Bang – Ba Be

7-Day Journey to Explore Ha Giang – Cao Bang – Ba Be

🏔️ THE NORTHEAST LOOP JOURNEY – A MASTERPIECE OF MOUNTAINS AND FORESTS

The sun had yet to rise, and the early morning air in Hà Giang still carried a lingering mist. 🌫️ Standing in front of Time Travel, I took a deep breath, preparing for a seven-day adventure through Northeast Vietnam with a group of travelers from all over the world. 🌍 Each of them carried the same desire – the longing to roam freely along the most breathtaking roads in Vietnam. 🛣️✨

🌄 Day 1: Ha Giang – Tam Son – Yen Minh – Dong Van (150km) – The Adventure Begins!

QUAN BA Heaven’s Gate

Early in the morning, Ha Giang was covered in a thin veil of mist, with distant mountain ranges appearing like an ink painting. Our group gathered at Time Travel, checked our motorbikes, and prepared for the epic journey across the Northeast.

🚀 “Let’s hit the road! Our legendary road trip begins!” – I shouted, and the group laughed as we revved up the engines, officially starting our adventure.

🛤️ Riding Along the Happiness Road

The smooth asphalt road wound around towering cliffs, embracing deep valleys below. This was the Happiness Road, a historic route carved out by thousands of young volunteers to connect the highlands with the lowlands.

As we navigated the sharp bends, Sophie, a French girl with radiant blonde hair, gripped her handlebars tightly and screamed:

😱 “Ohlala! Is this a road or a roller coaster?!”

Pierre, a German guy sitting behind her, burst into laughter:

🤣 “But there’s no view like this anywhere else in the world!”

⛰️ Bac Sum Pass – A Stairway to Heaven

We stopped at Bac Sum Pass, where jagged karst mountains stretched endlessly. The early morning mist still clung to the trees, and golden sunlight pierced through, creating dazzling rays.

🌤️ “Is this heaven or what?” – Someone in the group exclaimed, eyes filled with amazement.

We seized the moment to take some epic photos before continuing on.

🚴 Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate – The Twin Fairy Mountains

Upon reaching Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate, the breathtaking view made everyone’s jaws drop 😲. Below us lay the lush valley with the Twin Fairy Mountains, two perfectly rounded hills standing out like jewels in nature’s embrace.

📸 “Quick, take a photo! This is the ultimate background!” – Someone shouted, and we all scrambled for our phones.

Curious, Pierre asked:

🤔 “What do they grow on those terraced fields?”

I smiled and explained about the golden rice fields during harvest season and the stunning buckwheat flowers that turn the hills into a pink carpet in autumn.

🌲 Yen Minh – Through an Enchanted Pine Forest

Continuing our ride, we headed toward Yen Minh, passing through lush pine forests straight out of a fairy tale.

Sophie took a deep breath, “This scent! It feels like I’m in Europe!”

I chuckled, “This is Vietnam’s wild version of Da Lat!”

Stopping at a small roadside eatery, we enjoyed steaming bowls of chicken pho. The friendly H’Mong woman who owned the place brought out cups of corn wine for us to try.

🥰 “Drink up! This is homemade corn wine!” – She beamed, while the group took cautious sips, savoring the fiery warmth spreading down their throats.

🏯 Hmong King’s Palace – A Living Piece of History

At the Hmong King’s Palace, I shared stories about Vương Chí Sình, the wealthy opium lord who once ruled these lands. The intricate wooden carvings and solid stone walls stood as silent witnesses to a bygone era.

Pierre placed his hand on the cold stone wall, deep in thought:

😮 “Living here must have been an extraordinary experience…”

We wandered around the ancient complex, capturing snapshots under the historic rooftops, feeling history whisper through every stone.

🌙 Dong Van Ancient Town – A Night of Magic

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we finally reached Dong Van Ancient Town. The old earth-walled houses glowed warmly under the red lantern lights, creating a timeless scene.

We found a cozy street-side eatery and ordered thang co (a traditional horse meat stew) and more corn wine, the local specialty.

Sophie made a face after her first sip:

😂 “Oh wow! This taste… is definitely an acquired one!”

I laughed, “Just drink more corn wine, and you’ll love it in no time!”

Nearby, an elderly H’Mong man played the mouth harp, his haunting melody echoing through the ancient streets. A Spanish couple from our group held hands, closing their eyes to soak in the romantic ambiance.

“This place feels like it has magic!” – Someone whispered.

💤 Rest & Recharge for the Next Day

After an eventful day, we returned to our hotel, sinking into soft beds. Outside the window, the ancient town still shimmered under lantern light, and the sound of the mouth harp lingered in the cool night air.

🌟 The first day had passed like a dream.

🏁 Day 2: Đồng Văn – Lũng Cú – Mã Pí Lèng – Mèo Vạc (80km) – The Journey to the Roof of the Sky!

🌄 Morning: Conquering Lũng Cú Flag Tower – The Last Footstep of the Nation

The morning in Đồng Văn was chilly as our group woke up early, ready to conquer Lũng Cú – the northernmost point of Vietnam.

🚀 “Today is going to be a challenging day! Who’s ready?!” – I shouted excitedly.

Everyone raised their hands 🙌, eager to tackle the winding mountain roads leading to the remote northern peak.

The 29km mountain pass was not easy, but the breathtaking scenery made up for it. Golden terraced fields glowed under the morning sun, small villages nestled against the cliffs, and H’Mông children with round eyes waved at us from the roadside.

Sophie pointed at a child carrying firewood and exclaimed:

👧 “The kids here are so different from those in the city. They look strong and resilient!”

Pierre smiled:

😊 “That’s because they grow up in the mountains. Nature is the greatest teacher.”

At the foot of Lũng Cú, we parked our bikes and began our climb 🌟—389 stone steps + 140 spiral stairs to the top of the flagpole.

💪 “Keep going! Once we reach the top, you’ll see how beautiful Vietnam is!” – I encouraged the group.

After a tiring climb, the sight of the red flag with a golden star fluttering in the wind finally appeared. Standing atop the tower at 1,470m above sea level, the entire group fell silent, overwhelmed by the majestic border landscape.

🇻🇳 “Vietnam, you are so beautiful!” – one of the travelers whispered in awe.

We took photos together, holding small flags, capturing this unforgettable moment.

After a simple lunch of thắng dền and buckwheat cakes, we set off for Mã Pí Lèng, the legendary mountain pass of Hà Giang.

🌟 Afternoon: Conquering Mã Pí Lèng – The Greatest Pass in Vietnam

Riding along cliffs that seemed to defy gravity, we looked down to see the emerald-green Nho Quế River winding through the valley below. Every turn revealed a new, stunning vista.

🚴 “No photo can truly capture this beauty!” – I shouted into the wind, mesmerized by the view.

Pierre, amazed by Tu Sản Canyon, exclaimed:

🤯 “Mon dieu! Is this the Grand Canyon of Asia?!”

I laughed:

“No, this is Mã Pí Lèng – Vietnam’s treasure.”

Reaching the White Cliffs – towering limestone walls touching the sky, Pierre and I decided to walk for a while, leaving our bikes behind to fully embrace the scenery.

Strong gusts of wind carried the essence of the mountains. Standing at the edge of the abyss, Pierre and I remained silent for a moment, simply taking in the grandeur of nature.

🫢 “I’ve never seen anything this breathtaking… This is truly a world wonder!” – Pierre said, his eyes shining.

Sophie and others climbed up the rocks, letting the moment take over. We shouted into the vastness, letting the wind carry away our exhaustion, leaving only the pure joy of adventure.

As twilight set in, we arrived in Mèo Vạc, a small town nestled among towering peaks.

🌙 Evening: Mèo Vạc – A Peaceful Night in the Mountains

We chose to stay at a traditional homestay, where a warm fire flickered, laughter filled the air, and corn wine was poured generously.

🔥 “Tonight, we have corn wine! Who’s drinking with me?” – The homestay owner laughed, pouring us each a small cup.

Sophie took a sip and winced:

🤢 “Oh my! This is so strong!”

An elderly H’Mông man nearby chuckled:

🤣 “Just have another sip, and it’ll taste fine!”

The whole group burst into laughter, raising their cups in celebration of a fantastic day.

Outside, the night was pitch black, with only the moon hanging over the mountains. Inside the cozy home, we sat around the fire, sharing stories of past adventures and dreams yet to be realized.

🌠 “Tomorrow, a new journey awaits. But tonight, let’s just savor this moment…”

🌙 Sleep came gently, carrying the echoes of a truly magical day.

💦 Day 3: Mèo Vạc – Bảo Lạc – Cao Bằng (170km) – A Journey Through Peaceful Lands

BAO LAC.

🌅 Morning: Farewell Mèo Vạc – On the Road to Bảo Lạc

Early in the morning, we woke up to the fresh mountain air. The first rays of sunlight filtered through the wooden curtains of our homestay, casting a warm glow on the sleepy faces of some travelers.

“Who wants morning coffee? Traditional Vietnamese drip coffee, of course!” – I smiled as I poured the rich, dark liquid into each cup.

Sophie took a sip and winced at the strong bitterness:

😵 “Oh, this is so bitter!”

😂 “Just add some milk! It’s rich and flavorful!” – someone in the group laughed.

After a simple breakfast of egg-stuffed steamed rice rolls and a hot bowl of broth, we hopped on our bikes, ready for the 170km journey to Cao Bằng.

Bidding farewell to Mèo Vạc, we rode through winding mountain roads, where terraced rice fields stacked like stairways to the sky.

Pierre, sitting quietly at the back, was mesmerized by the vast landscape:

🤩 “I’ve traveled to many places, but nowhere has ever made me feel this peaceful.”

“This land is full of stories, of humble people, and of majestic nature.” – I replied, my eyes fixed on the serpentine road ahead.

Arriving in Bảo Lạc, a small riverside town, we took a lunch break at a cozy Tày ethnic restaurant. The owner, a kind elderly woman, welcomed us with a warm smile and an array of authentic local dishes.

🌿 Noon: A Stop in Bảo Lạc – Tasting the Local Delicacy, Khâu Nhục

🍲 “We have khâu nhục today! Who wants to try?” – she asked, her eyes gleaming with pride.

Pierre, curious, inquired:

🤔 “What is khâu nhục?”

😊 “It’s a slow-cooked pork belly dish, braised with taro, fragrant mac mat leaves, and aromatic rice wine. You have to try it!”

One bite and the tender pork melted in our mouths—rich, flavorful, yet not overwhelming, perfectly blended with the earthy spices of the mountains.

😋 “Oh la la! This is absolutely delicious!” – Pierre exclaimed in his accented Vietnamese, making the whole group burst into laughter.

After the hearty meal, we strolled through the peaceful town, where the locals carried on their daily lives with a simple, serene charm.

🌊 Afternoon: Cao Bằng – Where Earth and Sky Embrace

The journey continued towards Cao Bằng, a tranquil province nestled among rolling green mountains. As we ventured deeper, the scenery softened—no more sheer cliffs, just endless lush fields, gentle rivers, and meandering trails leading to quiet villages.

Taking a deep breath, Sophie sighed contentedly:

🌿 “The air here feels different… so light, so soothing, as if time moves slower.”

“Wait until tomorrow. Cao Bằng will surprise you even more!” – I teased.

As night fell, we arrived in the heart of the city, where warm golden streetlights illuminated the quiet roads. We checked into a cozy hotel, ready for the next day’s adventures to some of Vietnam’s most stunning natural wonders: Bản Giốc Waterfall, Ngườm Ngao Cave, and breathtaking jungle trails.

Before bed, I sat by the window, gazing at the distant mountain silhouettes. A strange yet familiar feeling crept over me—a mix of serenity and excitement for what lay ahead.

“Cao Bằng, show me your wonders tomorrow.”

🌙 Sleep came softly, carrying dreams of a mighty waterfall and endless green forests…

🌊 Day 4: Cao Bằng – Trùng Khánh – Bản Giốc Waterfall – Ngườm Ngao Cave (120km) – Discovering a Natural Masterpiece

🌞 Morning: Journey to Bản Giốc Waterfall – A Sapphire Gem Amidst the Mountains

Early morning in Cao Bằng, we woke up to a misty landscape, where layers of fog draped over the distant mountain ranges. The air was crisp and carried the fresh scent of nature—so different from the dry cold of Hà Giang’s highlands.

“Isn’t the air here so refreshing?” – I asked the group while sipping a steaming cup of coffee.

😊 “So light and peaceful! It feels like another world.” – Sophie smiled softly, taking a deep breath.

Breakfast featured Cao Bằng’s famous steamed rice rolls—thin, silky sheets wrapped around savory minced meat, served with a flavorful dipping sauce. After eating, we set off towards Bản Giốc Waterfall, about 90km away.

🚗 The road to Bản Giốc wound through lush valleys and small villages nestled along the hillsides. On either side, golden rice fields stretched out, water buffaloes grazed lazily, and playful Tày and Nùng children ran along the paths, creating a scene of pure serenity.

Pierre gazed out of the car window, his eyes filled with wonder:

🤩 “I’ve never seen a place so beautiful and peaceful. Vietnam is truly a treasure!”

🌊 Noon: Stunned by the Beauty of Bản Giốc Waterfall

As we neared the falls, the distant roar of rushing water echoed through the valley. The closer we got, the more breathtaking the view became.

💦 Bản Giốc Waterfall—the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia—unfolded before us like a masterpiece of nature. Cascading from a height of 30 meters, its white torrents crashed down, sending mist into the air, while below, the Quây Sơn River shimmered in a deep jade green.

Sophie gasped in awe:

😲 “C’est magnifique! (It’s magnificent!)”

📸 No one could resist capturing the moment, eagerly snapping photos of the spectacular scenery.

We boarded a bamboo raft, drifting closer to the base of the falls. Cool mist kissed our faces, a gentle embrace from nature itself.

💦 “Wow, this is so refreshing! Who wants to take a dip?!” – someone shouted excitedly.

😂 “I’d love to! But I’d probably get swept away!” – Pierre laughed.

At the foot of the waterfall, a few locals were casting fishing nets, their laughter mingling with the roar of the falls. On the other side of the river lay China, where visitors from across the border were also admiring this shared natural wonder.

After soaking in the breathtaking views, we found a riverside restaurant and feasted on grilled Quây Sơn fish—freshly caught from the river, its tender meat perfectly complemented by a spicy ginger fish sauce.

😋 “Oh wow, this fish is incredibly fresh! The flavor is amazing!” – Sophie exclaimed.

🕵️‍♂️ Afternoon: Exploring Ngườm Ngao Cave – A Mystical Underground Realm

With our appetites satisfied, we continued our journey to Ngườm Ngao Cave, just 3km from the falls.

🚶‍♂️ Stepping inside, we felt as if we had entered another dimension—a hidden world where golden lights illuminated shimmering stalactites and stalagmites. Formed over millions of years, these limestone formations took on fantastical shapes—some resembling towering palace columns, others frozen waterfalls, and even mystical figures carved by nature’s hand.

Pierre pointed to a massive rock formation shaped like a blooming lotus:

🤔 “Look at this! It’s like a sculpture made by human hands!”

😊 “But it’s not—this is nature’s masterpiece, slowly formed over countless millennia.”

As we ventured deeper, the warm glow of the cave lights cast an enchanting aura over the cavern’s walls, creating an almost otherworldly ambiance.

😮 “I feel like I’ve stepped into a fairy tale.” – Sophie whispered in amazement.

🌙 Evening: Resting at Bản Giốc – A Night in Nature’s Embrace

After a long day of adventure, we returned to our homestay near Bản Giốc Waterfall for a well-deserved rest.

Sitting on the wooden porch, we sipped warm corn tea, listening to the rhythmic roar of the falls blending with the soft hum of nocturnal insects. A thought crossed my mind:

Sometimes, happiness isn’t found in grand pursuits—it’s in moments like these, immersed in nature, sharing laughter and experiences with kindred souls.

Sophie smiled, closing her eyes to savor the tranquility:

💛 “Today was incredible! I wonder what surprises tomorrow will bring?”

“Just wait and see—Cao Bằng still holds many more wonders!” – I replied, gazing up at the star-studded sky.

🌠 That night, we slept deeply, dreaming of the next leg of our journey—heading towards Ba Bể Lake, the emerald jewel of Northeast Vietnam…

🌳 Day 5: Bản Giốc – Cao Bằng – Ba Bể Lake (170km) – Journey from Waterfalls to the Emerald Lake

Ba Be Lake

🌞 Morning: Farewell to Bản Giốc, Heading to Ba Bể Lake

Early in the morning, we woke up to the continuous roar of the waterfalls echoing through the mountains. The fresh, cool air and the thin veil of morning mist over the distant hills created a serene and magical atmosphere.

🌄 “Such a peaceful morning…” – Sophie stretched and took a deep breath, her eyes sparkling with joy.

🍜 After enjoying a breakfast of Cao Bằng’s specialty sour pho, a unique dish with a light tangy broth blended with the rich flavor of roasted peanuts, our group packed up and set off toward Ba Bể Lake.

🚗 Today’s journey covered 170km, leading us through tranquil villages, vast rice fields, and winding roads that hugged the mountains.

🛤️ Noon: Crossing Legendary Roads

The further we traveled, the more breathtaking the scenery became.

🏔️ Towering mountains, lush valleys, endless green rice paddies, and crystal-clear streams winding through the hills—everything merged into a stunning natural masterpiece.

Pierre gazed out the window, then turned to me:

🤩 “Vietnam surprises me every day. Everything changes so quickly that I can’t take my eyes off the scenery.”

Along the way, we stopped at a small highland market.

🛍️ The marketplace was lively with Tày and Nùng ethnic people dressed in vibrant brocade outfits. Stalls displayed fresh local produce, from crisp persimmons and golden corn to wild vegetables and regional delicacies.

😊 “Would you like to try some corn wine?” – A friendly Nùng vendor offered with a warm smile.

🍶 “Absolutely!” – Pierre eagerly took a sip, then quickly grimaced at the strong, fiery taste.
😂 “Stronger than I expected!”

After picking up a few charming souvenirs, we continued our journey.

🌊 Afternoon: Arriving at Ba Bể Lake – The Emerald Gem in the Mountains

By around 3 PM, we finally reached Ba Bể Lake, one of Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lakes, nestled deep within the forests of Bắc Kạn.

🚤 From a distance, the deep blue lake stretched out like a giant mirror reflecting the endless sky. Dense primary forests lined its shores, where birds chirped and small boats drifted lazily.

Sophie gasped in amazement:

😲 “Incroyable! (Unbelievable!)”
“How can such a massive lake be hidden so deep in the mountains?”

🚣 Evening: Drifting on the Lake & Staying in a Stilt House

After checking into a lakeside homestay, we decided to explore Ba Bể by boat at sunset.

🚤 The water was so calm it mirrored the golden hues of the setting sun, painting a dreamy landscape.

💦 We stopped by Fairy Pond (Ao Tiên), a secluded part of the lake where legends tell of fairies descending to bathe. Standing on the shore, Sophie dipped her fingers into the cool water:

😊 “Maybe I should try being a fairy for a moment?”

😂 “Go ahead, but remember, you don’t have wings to fly back up!” – I teased.

On our way back, we watched flocks of white storks soaring across the sky, returning to their nests amidst the vast, peaceful landscape, where mountains embraced the lake like a scene from a fairy tale.

🌙 Night: A Cozy Evening with the Locals

That night, we gathered around a warm fire with the local Tày people, sharing a meal of grilled fish from the Năng River, stir-fried wild greens, and cups of fragrant rice wine.

🔥 The sounds of the Tày’s traditional tính tẩu lute echoed through the forest, blending with the gentle lapping of the water and the distant hum of insects.

✨ “If there’s a perfect place to escape from the busy world, Ba Bể is it…” – I thought, lost in the tranquility of the moment.

🌠 That night, under a sky full of stars, we slept soundly in the cozy wooden stilt house, ready for another day of adventure…

🚣 Day 6: Ba Bể – Na Hang (100km) – From the Emerald Lake to the Mystical River

SEE PHOTO

Na Hang

🌞 Morning: Farewell to Ba Bể, Heading to Na Hang

At dawn, the chirping of birds woke us up. Ba Bể Lake lay still, wrapped in a thin mist, reflecting the soft golden rays of the morning sun.

Sophie sat on the balcony of the stilt house, sipping a cup of hot tea, her gaze still dreamy as she looked over the lake:

🌿 “I wish I could stay here longer… This place is so peaceful.”

After a breakfast of hot steamed rice rolls and nậm pịa, we bid farewell to the kind-hearted locals and continued our journey to Na Hang, a mysterious land nestled deep in the forests of Tuyên Quang.

🚗 The 100km journey ahead was not too long, but it was filled with breathtaking landscapes unfolding with every winding turn.

🛤️ Noon: A Scenic Route – Reaching the Untouched Wilderness

As we traveled further, the scenery became increasingly majestic. Towering limestone mountains, covered in lush greenery, stood proudly, with small waterfalls cascading down their rocky cliffs.

🏞️ We paused at a mountain pass, gazing down into the valley below, where remote Dao and Tày villages nestled beside gentle streams.

Pierre eagerly grabbed his camera, capturing the moment:

📸 “This is the Vietnam I imagined! Even more beautiful than anywhere I’ve been before.”

Along the way, we encountered a group of Tày children playing by a stream. Noticing us, they giggled and waved excitedly.

😊 “Hello! Where are you going?” – A young boy asked in a curious tone.
“We’re heading to Na Hang. What’s special about it?”
🌿 “There are so many waterfalls! And the Năng River is beautifully green!”

We all chuckled, feeling even more excited about our upcoming destination.

🌊 Afternoon: Arriving at the Hidden Gem – Na Hang Hydropower Lake & Năng River

Upon reaching Na Hang, we were left in awe. The lake, with its striking emerald waters, stretched between towering limestone karsts, resembling a miniature Hạ Long Bay hidden in the mountains of northern Vietnam.

🚤 We rented a small boat to explore the most stunning corners of the lake.

💦 A cool breeze swept through, rippling the water’s surface, while the towering cliffs, covered in moss and vines, created a scene of pure enchantment.

Sophie reached down, letting her fingers skim the water:

😊 “It’s amazing—so crystal clear, yet such a vibrant shade of emerald!”
🚤 “That’s due to the sediment and minerals in the lake,” the boatman explained.

🛶 A Unique Experience – Kayaking Through Majestic Mountains

After exploring part of the lake by boat, we switched to kayaks, paddling through narrow waterways that meandered between the towering cliffs.

🌊 The sensation of gliding past massive rock formations, surrounded by silence except for the rhythmic splashes of our paddles, was unforgettable.

Pierre, always up for a challenge, turned to me with a grin:

🏄 “Let’s see who can paddle faster!”
😂 “Don’t forget, this is a relaxing trip, not the Olympics!”

As we neared the end of our water adventure, we stopped at a small waterfall cascading from the cliffs into the lake. The icy water sent shivers through us, making everyone squeal in delight.

💦 “This is the true essence of northern Vietnam’s wilderness!” – I exclaimed, exhilarated.

🌙 Evening: A Tranquil Stay in the Heart of the Mountains

That night, we stayed at a lakeside homestay, a traditional stilt house built in the style of the Tày people.

🍲 Dinner was a rustic feast: grilled fish from the Năng River, boiled wild vegetables with dipping sauce, fragrant bamboo-cooked rice, and a warm sip of corn wine.

🔥 Sitting around the flickering fire, our host shared mystical tales of Na Hang—legends of fairy spirits turned to stone and dragons guarding the lake.

🌠 Outside, the starry sky mirrored itself in the lake’s calm waters, creating a dreamlike scene.

✨ “Tomorrow is the final stretch of our journey…” – Sophie murmured, a hint of wistfulness in her voice.
“That’s true, but Hà Giang will always welcome us back!” – I smiled, taking another sip of wine, letting its warmth seep into my soul amidst the untamed beauty of the mountains.

💤 That night, we drifted into a peaceful sleep, ready for the final leg of our journey back to Hà Giang the next day…

🏔️ Day 7: Na Hang – Bắc Quang – Hà Giang (145km) – Journey Ends, Memories Last Forever

SEE PHOTO

🌄 Morning: Farewell to Na Hang – The Road Home

Early in the morning, Na Hang Lake remained as still as a giant mirror, reflecting the clear blue sky. Mist lingered over the limestone mountains, creating an almost surreal scene.

Sophie stretched and took a deep breath:

💬 “This trip makes me feel so small before nature. I’ve never seen anywhere as beautiful as this.”

We had a quick breakfast of bánh chưng đen (black sticky rice cake), grilled eggs, and a cup of hot Shan Tuyet tea before setting off for Hà Giang.

🚗 Today’s journey was long, but the challenging mountain passes were behind us. Instead, we drove along winding roads through ancient forests, small streams, and lush terraced fields.

🛤️ Noon: Bắc Quang – The Land of Abundant Fruit

At midday, we stopped in Bắc Quang, a region famous for its cam sành – Hà Giang’s signature sweet oranges.

🌳 Along the roadside, vast orange orchards stretched out, the branches heavy with golden fruit, filling the air with a subtle citrus fragrance.

A local farmer invited us into his orchard. He picked a ripe orange, sliced it, and offered it to the group:

👴 “Bắc Quang oranges are very sweet. Try one!”

The juicy, sweet segments melted in our mouths. Pierre was impressed:

🍊 “I’ve tasted many types of oranges, but this one is truly special!”

Before leaving, everyone bought a few kilograms of oranges as gifts. The warm hospitality of the locals and the peaceful beauty of the land left a lasting impression on us.

🏁 Afternoon: Returning to Hà Giang – The Journey Comes to an End

By late afternoon, the familiar roads of Hà Giang came into view. It felt like we had completed a magical adventure and were now returning to our second home.

🌆 The town was bathed in golden sunset light, with rooftops peeking through the trees and the Lô River flowing gently, as if it had never rushed.

Pierre looked at me with a hint of regret in his eyes:

💬 “So the journey ends here? I really don’t want to leave.”
😊 “This trip may be over, but the memories will stay forever.” – I smiled.

🚶‍♂️ Before parting ways, we took a final walk through the streets, cherishing our last moments together before returning to our daily lives.

🥂 We raised our glasses, toasting to new journeys, new encounters, and the hope that one day… we would return to Hà Giang!

“Hà Giang is not just a destination—it’s a feeling, a love that never fades.”
